Former Al-Ahly leader Ashour returns from Al-Ittihad Gate of Alexandria

Al-Ittihad of Alexandria announced that it had signed a contract with Hossam Ashour, a former Al-Ahly midfielder and captain, for a period of two seasons, with a free transfer contract, after he was dismissed mid-season.


"Ashour, 34, signed a contract that extends for two seasons," the Alexandria Union said in an official statement, adding that its president, Mohamed Moselhi, completed negotiations with Ashour, who agreed without hesitation to join the team.


The club stated that its president ended negotiations with Ashour, "who agreed immediately and without any hesitation to sign contracts to join the Green Castle, stressing that joining Al-Ittihad Alexandria is a great honor."


Ashour explained that he would do his best with his colleagues "to present a strong season worthy of the name and history of the leader of Al-Thaghr and his great fans."


While coach Hussam Hassan praised Ashour's great technical capabilities and expertise, stressing that it would be a real addition to the Al-Ittihad club's midfield.


Ashour added, "One of my wishes was that I train under the leadership of the twins Hussam and Ibrahim Hassan, and we talked about facing challenges in order to restore the union to its natural place."


He added, "I will participate with Al-Ittihad in its next match in the Egyptian Cup semi-final against Al-Ahly, in the event that the latter passes Abu Qir for fertilizers in the quarter-finals, and I will do my best and this is what I was raised in the Red Castle."


Ashour left Al-Ahly after being dismissed after leaving the technical accounts of the former Swiss coach Rene Fyler, then entering into a crisis with the club's management due to the date of his retirement match, which caused a sharp dispute between the board of directors of Al-Ahly Club and Turki Al-Sheikh, head of the entertainment authority in Saudi Arabia and the honorary president The former Al-Ahly club, which promised to play sponsored the festival of his retirement.
