"Volcano of Morocco" explodes in Africa to celebrate the "Confederation" Cup

The Moroccan Berkane renaissance was crowned the champion of the Confederation Cup, by beating the Egyptian Pyramids 1-0, yesterday, Sunday, in the final match at Prince Moulay Abdallah Stadium in Rabat in front of empty stands due to the precautionary measures taken in light of the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

Burkinabe, Kosovo Daewoo, scored the only goal of the match in the 15th minute.

Nahdet Berkane compensated for his loss in last year's final against Egypt's Zamalek with a penalty shootout (3-5) after they exchanged victory back and forth with one score (1-0), and crowned the title for the first time in its history.

It is the second title for the Moroccan team since its inception in 1970, after the Moroccan Cup title the year before last.

Borkan Renaissance is the fifth Moroccan team to win the title of the competition, after the Royal Army (2005), Maghreb Fassi (2011), Al-Fateh Rabat (2010) and Raja Casablanca (2018).

On the other hand, Pyramids were Yemenis by winning the title in the first continental participation and keeping it Egyptian after being crowned Zamalek last season.

The final round was held for the first time in one match, similar to the round of four, due to the "Covid-19" virus, which imposed that Morocco, with the assembly system, host the two round matches.
