England's women's national team, which finished fourth at the 2019 World Cup, has not played a single international since the SheBelievesCup in March.

On Tuesday, it was thought that the team would play against Germany, but now that match is canceled.

The reason is that a person in the English management staff tested positive for the coronavirus.

"Definitely the right thing to do"

- Even though we all wanted to play Tuesday's match, this was clearly the right thing to do.

I thank the German leadership for showing understanding, says England captain Phil Neville in a statement, quoted by several international media.

- I know that the fans hope to see us play again but I am sure they will understand the decision.

After all, we have had a good training week and look forward to meeting again next month before our match against Norway in Sheffield.

England is hosting the next European Championship, which is scheduled to be played in 2022.
