The former international football referee, Muhammad Al-Junaibi, confirmed that there are arbitration decisions that affected the results of the two summit matches between Shabab Al-Ahly and Al-Ain (1-1), and Al-Jazira with Al-Dhafra (1-1) in the Arab Gulf League, for not counting two penalty kicks, the first for the benefit of Al-Ain was in the 85th minute, and the second for Al-Jazeera in the 43rd minute, indicating that the video referee was supposed to intervene in both cases to correct the decisions of the two match officials, but that did not happen.

Al-Junaibi told Emirates Al-Youm: “The second round of the league saw the referee intervening five times in the seven matches to correct the decisions of the arena referees, including the case of dismissal in the match between Hatta and Al-Wasl, and a penalty kick that was not counted for Sharjah in his match against Al-Wahda for offside, while the case was The third match, Al-Jazira and Al-Dhafra, when the referee entered the video to correct the decision of the arena referee and canceled the dismissal of the Al-Jazira player, Mohammed Rabie, while the video referee did not interfere in two cases in the Ajman and Kalba match, as the arena referee’s decisions were correct in both cases.

Al-Junaibi said the penalty kick that was awarded to Al-Dhafra, and that his player Yassin Al-Bakhit scored the equalizer for Al-Dhafra against Al-Jazeera, that it was correct.

He added: “As for the other five matches in the second round of the league, which are: Sharjah with Al Wahda, Al Nasr with Hatta, Al Wasl with Khorfakkan, Baniyas with Fujairah, and Ajman with Al Ittihad Kalba, there were no arbitration decisions affecting the results of these matches.”

Al-Junaibi praised the distinguished level of arbitration that the two referees, Hamad Ali Youssef and Sultan Muhammad Saleh, showed, pointing out that their arbitration performance was consistent in the two rounds.
