Ajax, a prestigious club in the tradition of Dutch professional football, broke the record for the most goals in a league game in 48 years.

Ajax won a big 13-0 away game against VVV Penlo in the 2020-2021 Dutch Eredivisi Round 6, which ended in the Dutch Penlo Ducoel.

Ajax scored four goals in the first half as a signal to Jürgen Ekelenkamp's first winning goal 12 minutes after the kick-off.

After Penlo defender Christian Kum was sent off in the 6th minute of the second half, Eredivisi's history has been rewritten with 9 goals.

Thirteen goals are the number of goals a team has scored in one Eredivisie game.

Previously, Ajax's 12 goals against Pithesser in May 1972 were the highest.

However, one goal is less than the Ajax club's official game record.

Ajax won the European Football Federation Cup 14-0 against Luxembourg's Red Boys Diperdanju in October 1984.

Traore became the first Ajax player to score five goals in an Eredivisie game after Marco van Baston in 1985, who scored five goals and three assists in this match against Penro.

Traore said in an interview with a local broadcaster after the match that losing in the first match of the UEFA Champions League group stage against Liverpool on the 22nd has fueled a controversy against Penlo.

Ajax lost 0-1 to Liverpool in the home with an own goal by Nicolas Tagliapico.

Ajax, the top winner of the Eredivisie game, gained 5 wins and 1 loss in the season with this victory against Penro, surpassing Eindhoven (4 wins 1 draw), who played less than one game, to the top.
