The President of the Syrian Football Association, Hatem Al-Ghayeb, confirmed that the Tunisian coach, Nabil Maaloul, remains in his position as technical director of the Syrian national team, and that the crisis of financial dues for the technical staff of "Nusour Qassioun" is on the way to a solution.

Al-Ghayeb said in statements to the Syrian Sama TV channel that: “Tunisian Nabil Maaloul will remain with the national team in the coming period, as we seek with him to fulfill the Syrians’ dream to reach the World Cup finals, especially as the crisis of financial dues for the team’s technical staff is on the way to a solution, with the support of the Federation’s Executive Office.
