If it had not been for the corona pandemic, Guif would have had to qualify to stay in the Handball League this spring.

This season has not started very well either, and of the first eight matches this autumn, only three had meant victory.

Kristianstad started best

There were probably quite a few who thought that the Eskilstuna team would break Kristianstad's fine suite in the Handball League when the teams met tonight.

And initially it also looked like Kristianstad would expand its suite with straight victories.

The team started best, and took an early lead that was at most four balls - just before the break.

Two quick goals at the end

But in the second half, Guif played up, and after just over five minutes, they caught up.

With barely a quarter of an hour left, they also passed, leading by two goals with less than a minute and a half left to play.

But Kristianstad scored two quick goals, and the match was decided in the last trembling seconds.

Åkerman decided

And with only eight seconds left to play, Guif got a free throw.

The ball then looked to Rickard Åkerman on the right wing.

He then looked into the court and threw himself forward and shot from the six-meter line in the middle of the court - and saw the ball find its way into the net.

- I do not think so much there, we just have to win.

That's what's in my head, says Åkerman to Sportkanalen.

"Not distinct enough"

As a result, Kristianstad's loss zero is no longer intact.

- We are not distinct enough in the attacking game.

We do not put the ball when we get positions, it is too bad and too passive in the defense and they do too simple goals, says a very disappointed Olafur Gudmundsson to Sportkanalen.

- We have to do it much, much better.

We need to have more energy and be more aggressive.

That's way too bad I think.
