At the last national team gathering in September, Stina Blackstenius had problems with an injury and never came into play.

This time she has had mild cold symptoms, which meant that she missed yesterday's European Championship qualifier against Latvia.

- All year I have had problems with injuries from time to time so there has been no rhythm this season.

But I'm driven to come back all the time.

For me, it is about being careful in the preparations and listening to the signals, but also to dare to push and not hold back, Blackstenius says to SVT Sport.

Now, however, the Swedish striker is back.

Today she trained football for the first time after her cold.

- It is clear that I have been a bit affected by not being able to be physically active, but it still feels good after the first football session, she says.

Group final against Iceland

The next European Championship qualifier is only on Tuesday when Sweden takes on Iceland in a pure group final.

Blackstenius feels ready for a place in the starting eleven if the national team captain Peter Gerhardsson takes her out.

- I will show that I want to be involved and fight for a starting place, I feel ready for it, says Blackstenius.

- But there is a lot of competition in the forward position but I will do everything I can in all training that is left before the match.

Sweden tops the European Championship qualifying group with 16 points.

Iceland, which has one game less played, is second with its 13 points.

Swedish victory on Thursday means that the European Championship ticket is secured.

- We talked about it after the match yesterday, that only 50 percent of the work is done.

We strive to win and to have a championship to look forward to next year in England, that is what we are aiming for.

SVT broadcasts Sweden's match against Iceland on Tuesday 27 October at 18.15 on SVT2.
