Joan Mir
(Suzuki),
Fabio Quartararo
(Yamaha),
Maverick Viñales
(Yamaha) and
Andrea Dovizioso
(Ducati) appeared on Thursday at the previous press conference for the Teruel GP.
The four candidates for the MotoGP World Championship, within a narrow margin of 15 points, will have to live with the pressure for their assault on the title.
Marc Márquez's
successor
in the record will be decided in the last four races, where 100 points are distributed.
Only five days after the first meeting in Alcañiz, Quartararo returns to present himself as the reference and the rival to beat.
The Frenchman, after dominating practice and qualifying at MotorLand Aragón, was left behind due to a pressure problem in his front tire.
His debacle, completed with the handover of the leadership to Mir, does not seem to have affected him.
"We have found something to solve it," El Diablo said on Thursday, aware of the importance of psychological play.
"The pressure is not for me," he added about his status as an 'outsider' at the Petronas Yamaha SRT, without the resources of the official teams.
Suzuki, 20 years later
Mir, who has not yet been able to conquer a triumph in the premier class, focuses his strategy on consistency.
"It would be a big mistake to change the way I approach things. I have to keep going race to race, trying to get as many points as possible," revealed the 23-year-old Mallorcan.
His hunger for triumphs could also be benefited by the help of
Alex Rins
(Suzuki), a brand new winner on the same track.
The strategic pulse is emerging as another key in this exciting World Cup resolution.
The Japanese brand dreams of revalidating, 20 years later, that
Kenny Roberts Jr
crown
in 500 cc.
Viñales wants to join the fight, traditionally fast in Alcañiz and fed up with the breakdowns that diminished his options.
"Due to various mechanical problems, I have lost at least 40 points in three races," lamented the Yamaha factory rider on Thursday.
Dovizioso, the last in the equation, still does not know very well how to digest the rare sensations of this World Cup.
"I have never been so strong as to think about the fight for the championship, but in the end I am there and that is the important thing," said the Ducati leader.
Moto2 and Moto3, very tight
After 10 races and eight different winners, only Quartararo was able to repeat his victory.
Alex Márquez
intends to join the group of winners
, with the spirits overflowing after his two recent podiums, the first in MotoGP.
This equality has not been the exclusive patrimony of the premier class, but it also multiplies the attractiveness of Moto2 and Moto3.
Enea Bastianini
leads the Moto2 World Championship with two points over
Sam Lowes
and five over
Luca Marini
.
Lowes has won the last two races and Marini intends to forget his Sunday crash.
In Moto3, the first three riders,
Albert Arenas
,
Ai Ogura
and
Celestino Vietti
are tightened by 18 points.
