Virologist: Bayern Munich can play despite Janabri's infection with "Corona"

German virologist Jonas Schmidt-Chanasset said that the German team, Bayern Munich, can play its scheduled match against Atlético de Madrid on Wednesday evening, as scheduled, despite Bayern's Serge Gnabry being infected with the new Corona virus.

"Through regular checks every day, any player found to be contagious can be excluded from participation," Schmidt-Chanasset said.

When asked about the possibility of the infection actually spreading to other Bayern players, Schmidt-Chanasset said: "No, this would have been discovered very early (quickly)."

Schmidt-Chanasset explained that he may be one of the players in the incubation period, but there are no cases of infection, which is indicated by the negative results of the PCR tests that reveal infection with the virus.

Yesterday, Tuesday, the results of the tests revealed that Janabry was infected with Corona, to miss Bayern in his scheduled match today against Atlético Madrid in the first round of the group stage matches in the European Champions League, as well as the scheduled match against Eintracht Frankfurt next Saturday in the league, and possibly other matches.

Janabri had trained with the team yesterday morning, and therefore all players will undergo a new Corona examination before the Atletico match.
