Brazilian soccer star Bebeto, who won the World Cup in 1994 with his country, intends to undertake an investment experiment in the field of sports in Dubai, which he revealed during a visit yesterday to the Dubai Sports Council, to discuss opportunities for cooperation with him in this field.

Bebeto was received by the Secretary-General of the Dubai Sports Council, Saeed Hareb, and the Assistant Secretary-General, Nasser Aman Al Rahma, as he welcomed the world star, stressing that Dubai is a favorite destination for stars and world champions of athletes who are keen to come to it constantly, due to its facilities Hotel, marketing, sports and infrastructure established and designed according to the highest international standards, in addition to the tourist areas to which millions from different countries of the world come to visit annually.

A statement issued by the Dubai Sports Council said that Saeed Hareb provided an explanation to the Brazilian guest about the many sporting events that are organized in Dubai annually and the council’s vision to spread the practice of sport and enhance Dubai’s position on the sports map locally and internationally. He also assured him that the Dubai Sports Council is keen to receive stars. International sports from different countries of the world, urging them to invest in "Danat Al-Dunya", and providing them with means of success in the field of establishing sports academies, organizing tournaments, and staying in Dubai in an atmosphere that contributes to achieving their sporting goals and the success of their investment projects.

For his part, Bebeto praised the civilizational, economic, tourism and sports renaissance in the Emirate of Dubai.

In a press statement, he said, "Dubai is the preferred destination for Brazilians. They love it and always look forward to visiting it. I also make sure to visit Dubai regularly, as this is the fourth time that I visit it."

He added, "I touched the extent of the continuous development that the city is witnessing and its interest in sports. Bebeto began his football career with Vitoria FC in 1983, after which he moved to several Brazilian clubs, such as Flamengo, Vasco de Gama and Botafogo Club.
