The Swedish national team is in Gothenburg for the European Championship qualifiers against Latvia on Thursday and Iceland next week.

Kosovar Asllani comes to the collection with newfound confidence and in a completely different form of match compared to last time.

- For my own part, I feel in much better shape.

Before the last collection, it was so uncertain how one would react, if one would even remember how one almost played, she says with a smile.

In the summer of 2019, Asllani and Sofia Jakobsson were recruited to CD Tacon.

Shortly afterwards, it became clear that Real Madrid had taken over the club, and for the first time in 118 years, Real Madrid had a professional women's team.

But the first successes have been delayed.

Not least because this year's pre-season was three months long and completely without training matches.

But now Asllani and Real have had time to play three league matches.

In the 1-1 match against Valencia in mid-October, the Swede became historic when she scored the club's first goal.

- It is clear that it was big and it is a special feeling.

We had many chances to score before that too, it was a bit like fate that it was you who would be allowed to score that goal - and with your head as well, says Asllani.

Kosovar Asllani goal scorer for Real Madrid.

At that very moment and afterwards, how much do you value it?

- Okay, you want to win the match - but it is still a special feeling to be able to do it, and for my own part, I actually value it very highly in my career.

This weekend also saw Real Madrid's first victory.

- I have to win in my DNA, so it is clear that it is incredibly important that we show that we take steps all the time.

The European Championship qualifier against Latvia is broadcast on SVT2 and SVT Play, starting at 6.30 pm on Thursday.

The match against Iceland is broadcast on SVT2 and SVT Play, starting at 18.15 on Tuesday next week.
