It seems that Primoz Roglic did not digest his loss of the Tour de France too badly.

After winning Liège-Bastogne-Liège a few weeks ago, the Slovenian confirmed his status as the ultra-favorite of the Tour of Spain by winning the first stage, in the mountains of the Basque country.

In the sprint, he was ahead of the group of those who will fight for victory in this Grand Tour: Carapaz, Dan Martin, Chaves, Grossschartner or Mas.

Chris Froome or Thibaut Pinot were not in this group, dropped very early in the penultimate ascent before the final towards Arrate, and already eliminated from the race for final victory.

They finish respectively 11 and 10 minutes from Roglic.

Guillaume Martin, he finished 1'09 behind the winner.
