Sochaux midfielder Ousseynou Thioune bit Jerome Prior, the Valenciennes goalkeeper, on the cheek on Saturday after the match of the 7th day of Ligue 2 between the two teams, said VAFC president Eddy Zdziech.

“It's really unfortunate.

Do not minimize the incident or deny it.

Jérôme, with whom I spoke, really has a big bite on his cheek, he was bleeding, ”the Valencian leader told AFP.

This unspeakable act occurred at the end of the match, when a scuffle broke out between the players of the two teams.

On the images of beIN Sports, we see Thioune approaching very close to Prior, before the latter reacts suddenly to push back his opponent.

The images of the Valenciennes goalkeeper cheek leave little doubt about the nature of the injury.

“This kind of behavior is serious.

We really have to eradicate them, it has nothing to do on a football field.

I trust the referees and the disciplinary committee to take the necessary decisions, ”continued Mr. Zdziech.

“We have a meeting at the end of the afternoon [Sunday] to decide on the follow-up to be given to this sad affair.

We are going to defend our player, ”he concluded.
