It is a small box which will generate, over the entire surface of an object, a very particular kind of gas called cold plasma.

It is a natural disinfectant.

It is already used in industry to disinfect certain parts without chemicals and to purify the air.

But now, researchers at Princeton University in the United States have found a very inexpensive way to generate this plasma directly on the surface of objects.

Is there no risk for humans?

Apparently not.

At worst, the surfaces could become slightly hot.

But there is no risk of irritation or the like, as with bleach or hydroalcoholic gel.

The patent has been made available.
