The general manager of the delivery company of Olympic works (Solideo) for the Paris 2024 Olympics, Nicolas Ferrand, said Thursday that the project schedule was kept despite the Covid crisis.

"We are exactly on the schedule we announced in October 2017, and this despite the Covid", launched the leader during a press briefing.

"We are on time," he hammered.

The coronavirus does not generate an additional cost for the Solideo.

“The feedback we have today is that the cost of the Covid in construction will turn between 1 and 4%, we have not made a specific Covid provision,” he said.

Responsible for lasting works for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the Solideo on Tuesday adjusted its roadmap, consequences of savings on the organization of the Olympics.

The new version includes a media village now built in two stages, or a climbing wall at Le Bourget (6 million euros).

The share of public investment is still 1.4 billion euros, out of a total of 3.2 billion euros.

The Solideo was able to draw on its "reserve" (100 million initial euros of which 60 remains) to match certain new expenses.

In the game of communicating vessels, the envelope for the Games preparation centers (20 million) goes entirely from the Solideo to the National Sports Agency (ANS).

A major dispute awaiting judgment

Nicolas Ferrand confirmed in passing that the urban sports equipment (freestyle BMX, 3X3 basketball, skatepark) of the events which will take place at Place de la Concorde in Paris will be "reinstalled in Seine-Saint-Denis" after the Games, as the elected from this department.

Asked about the ongoing litigation on the motorway interchange development project in Saint-Denis - Pleyel (A86) and Porte de Paris (A1) districts - a project suspended in summary proceedings in May following an appeal filed by associations residents and parents of students, deeming it dangerous to their health, Nicolas Ferrand explained that he "awaited" the decision on the merits which will be rendered on October 22.

"If justice is favorable to us, the work is done and we are still on schedule," he said.

If this does not happen, at that point we have a complicated subject to deal with Paris 2024 (the organizing committee), it's how we manage to make the Olympic village work in its link with the A86, the Stade de France, the Olympic Aquatic Center, without this interchange?

"

“There are two issues for the organizing committee, an issue of efficiency, the athlete must arrive on time for his competition, and a security issue for the delegations at high risk (Americans, Israelis, etc. ...) and therefore it is not a question of having a convoy that is stopped at a red light, ”he explained.
