The Egyptian Football Association begins the first steps in launching the Women's League

The Egyptian Football Association announced that it will address the local league clubs to form women's teams to participate in the Women's League next season, in order to "broaden the base of women's practice in line with the international and continental trend to advance it."

The union added in a press statement that this step comes "coinciding with the decision of the African Union to launch the first edition of the African Women's Champions League starting from the sports season 2021/2020, which represents an opportunity for Egyptian clubs to represent Egypt at the continental and African level and to achieve achievements in this regard, similar to what they achieve." The federation also announced the formation of the technical staff for the national team under the supervision of Sahar Abdelhak, a member of the committee in charge of managing the federation, and Ahmed Ramadan as technical director.

Sahar Abdelhak, the supervisor of women's football, said that Ramadan "has a long history in women's football in the American League and works through study and knowledge in addition to the fact that members of the technical staff also have good experiences in women's football."

Meanwhile, Gamal Mohamed Ali, vice president of the committee, added, according to the federation’s official website, that “women's football has started to spread in Egypt and will spread more through the schools and universities league.”

Ramadan touched on "the importance of the presence of popular clubs such as Al-Ahly, Zamalek and Ismaili," adding that "the main problem in women's football is the lack of goals and ambition among the players."
