The national team is running a friendly next January in preparation for the World Cup qualifiers

The Second Vice President of the Football Association, Chairman of the Teams and Technical Affairs Committee, Youssef Hussein Al-Sahlawi revealed that they have in the National Teams Committee a vision to hold an international friendly tournament next January, in which the national team will participate as part of its preparation for the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 Asian Cup, noting The team plays in Group G, which includes Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia and Indonesia, and pointed out that the team will play two friendly matches next month against Tajikistan and Syria.

Al-Sahlawi said in a press statement: We realize that the team needs a lot of work and strong preparation in the coming periods, and that the friendly Uzbekistan match that was held yesterday at Rashid Stadium at Al-Ahly Youth Club in Dubai was a useful experience for the team.

Al-Sahlawi pointed out that although the national team lost the match with two goals to one, the experience produced some players who would be an addition to the team, such as Hareb Abdullah, Tahnoon Al Zaabi, and Khalil Ibrahim.
