Sweden went to Croatia to make a good effort and would like to come from there with a victory.

Blue-yellow was towards the end for a winning goal, but it was the Croatians who with five minutes left of regular time countered in the final result 2-1.

In the latest episode of "Blue-yellow - from the sidelines", the football journalist, Erik Niva, is a guest.

After Sweden's loss, he gave his view on the effort and the rest of the Nations League.

- The hope is out for Sweden in terms of everything other than clinging to the A-group.

It is still quite possible to imagine that it is enough to beat Croatia at home and steal an away point elsewhere and it may then be possible to hang on.

But to win some groups, to go to some playoffs, to dream about the dent ... that hope is out, says Niva.

Three straight losses for Sweden, how critical should we be?

- Not overly critical when conducting a match in this way.

It is clear that a match does not live in isolation from the previous ones and three losses are inevitably failed.

But this was a really good second half of Sweden and it was in large part a well-executed match.

"No need to lose faith"

On Wednesday night, the last international match for this collection awaits.

It is about another away match and now against Portugal in the Nations League.

Erik Niva has his thoughts clear before what awaits in Lisbon and how Sweden will work further in the future.

- He (national team captain Janne Andersson) needs to remind them of what is being done well, what is pointing in the right direction.

We can see it as if we are in the middle of a cultural revolution in Swedish football and that things are happening with the Swedish game, says Niva and continues:

- In the past, it was often the case that we stood and were a little thrilled to have defended ourselves to a bang against this type of resistance.

Now the idea is to give this some development phase in order to then be able to defeat even the most difficult opposition to a large extent by virtue of their own game.

As long as we have faith in it, the equation goes together and I do not think that this effort in Croatia was a reason to lose faith.
