The national football team lost to Uzbekistan, 1-2, yesterday, at Rashid Stadium in Dubai, as part of its preparations for the remaining matches in Group G of the joint qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup.

The match represented a useful experience for the team, which appeared modestly, and a lackluster performance, as it did not provide a convincing level, and several gaps appeared in the national team, most notably the lack of harmony, offensive effectiveness and fatal defensive errors.

The national team seemed lost during the match and the touch of the duo, Sebastian Tigale and Fabio Lima, was absent in the attack, after they appeared together for the first time with the Whites in an international friendly match.

With the exception of Muhammad Marzouq's only offensive attempt in the first half, the national team’s attack did not pose any danger to the Uzbek goal.

Igor Sergey (47) scored for Uzbekistan, taking advantage of a fatal defensive error caused by Khamis Ismail, Youssef Jaber, Muhammad Marzouq and Faris Juma. The same player added the second goal (86), while Tigali scored his first goal with the national team, "90", from a penalty kick.

The team was affected by the absence of some basic elements, such as Omar Abdel Rahman and Ahmed Khalil, next to Caio Kanido due to injuries, and the match was also missed by the historic goal-scorer Ali Mabkhout.

The team played with a squad that included goalkeeper Khaled Issa, Aziz Heikal, Faris Jumaa, Mohamed Marzouq, Youssef Jaber, Abdulaziz Heikal, Khalfan Mubarak, Ahmed Berman, Khamis Ismail, Khalil Ibrahim, Sebastian Tegali and Fabio de Lima.

It is noteworthy that the team will play two friendly matches next November against Syria and Tajikistan.
