Sweden is a real superpower in curling, and is the reigning European Champion on both the men's and women's side and the reigning world champion on the men's side.

When the Olympics were last decided, it was gold for the ladies in team Hasselborg, and silver for the men in team Edin.

In the new branch mixed doubles, however, Sweden was not included, as the decision to introduce the discipline was made quite late and Sweden did not have time to start any real investment.

Rasmus has several golds

Now, however, they have decided to make a substantial investment, and this year have five teams that compete regularly on the world tour - with the goal of securing a Swedish Olympic place in 2022.

One of the teams consists of siblings Rasmus, 25, and the two year younger Isabella Wranå.

Rasmus is part of team Edin (reigning European and World Cup gold medalists) on a daily basis, while Isabella is skipper of team Wranå, which has two world tour victories and one JVM gold on the merit list.

- It is clear that we want to take that place, says Isabella.

"Know each other for a long time"

Making the investment together was obvious, explains Rasmus, who explains that the fact that they know each other inside and out is an advantage in their new venture.

- It's fun to compete with his sister.

We have known each other for a long time and played a little together before.

Then at that time, when we were a little younger, we could get a little angry at each other, but I think both have matured a little since then, he says with a laugh.

How angry do you get at each other these days?

- We do not get particularly angry at each other, but we complement each other quite well, I usually say that I am like mother he is like father.

They are married and work together, says Isabella and laughs.

"Would be a dream"

Despite the new venture, however, does not mean that the venture with their "regular" team will suffer, assures the duo - who as recently as yesterday won a world tour competition together in Switzerland.

- Our regular teams go in the first place.

If there are two tournaments at the same time, we will choose the regular one, says Rasmus.

But even if the duo's regular teams go in the first place, there is no doubt that an Olympic place together would mean a lot.

- It would be a dream to play the Olympics with his siblings.

But we do this also because it's fun to hang out.

We get along well with each other on the pitch, but also on the sidelines.

So we think it's fun with the trip itself.

And if we get to play the biggest things together, it is obviously a dream and would be really cool, says Isabella Wranå.
