Al-Ahly and Zamalek object to the timing of the registration and the Egyptian Football Association adheres to its position

Al-Ahly and Zamalek clubs objected to the timing announced by the Egyptian Football Association to close the registration door for the new season, scheduled for November 4, two days before the final match of the African Champions League.

Al-Ahly and Zamalek pressured the Football Association in the past hours to extend the registration period to be on the seventh of November, one day after the final match of the Champions League.

Egyptian media reported: “Officials of the two clubs believe that the decision to close the summer registration door on the fourth of November will deprive them of the participation of Hazem Emam and Ahmed Fathi, whose contracts expire at the end of the current season.

The Executive Director of the Football Association, Walid Al-Attar, said in televised statements:“ Hazem Imam Ahmed Fathy will not be able to participate with Zamalek or Al-Ahly even if the registration period is extended beyond the African Champions League final.

He added, "Imam and Fathi’s contract expires as soon as the league matches end at the end of this month, and they will not be able to participate with their club in any African match unless their contracts are extended. Otherwise, the two players will be outside the list of Zamalek and Al-Ahly, if they qualify for the final match, because their contracts will not expire." They are entitled to continental participation. "
