Rafael Nadal won the Roland-Garros tournament on Sunday, clearly beating world number one Novak Djokovic 6-0, 6-2, 7-5.

With thirteen coronations, a record, the Spaniard further consolidates his status as untouchable in Paris.

Five figures take a look back at an unparalleled reign at Porte d'Auteuil.

DECRYPTION

A monster in his garden.

Rafael Nadal once again showed Sunday that he was the king of Roland Garros by winning clearly, if not easily, against a quickly dominated Novak Djokovic.

Facing the Serbian world number one, the Spaniard displayed his best face in a center court, admittedly covered and sparsely furnished due to the coronavirus, but all in favor of his cause.

Because in fifteen participations in this Grand Slam tournament, "Rafa" has made the Porte d'Auteuil his preserve, as the figures attest to the (dis) measure of his domination.

13 titles at Roland-Garros

It's an absolute record, of course: Rafael Nadal is the only male player to win for the thirteenth time a Grand Slam tournament, in this case Roland-Garros (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019 and therefore 2020).

He also becomes the only athlete, all sexes combined, to have won 13 times in the same tournament, Major or not.

Martina Navratilova had won the Chicago one 12 times between 1978 and 1992.

100 victories in Paris

Since his first match at Roland Garros on May 23, 2005, Rafael Nadal has stacked up the victories in this tournament on clay, his surface of choice.

On Sunday, he reached the symbolic milestone of 100 wins in 103 matches, with defeats against Robin Soderling in 2009 and Novak Djokovic in 2015 (and a withdrawal in 2016).

He becomes the second man to reach the milestone of 100 victories in a Grand Slam tournament, after Roger Federer at the Australian Open (102) and Wimbledon (101).

It should be noted in passing that 103 matches constitutes an absolute record at Roland Garros, above the 94 matches played by Steffi Graf between 1983 and 1999.

5 years without defeat

Rafael Nadal's last defeat at Roland Garros?

It was June 3, 2015, against Novak Djokovic, in the quarter-finals.

By winning against the Serbian on Sunday, the native of Manacor, on the island of Mallorca, brings this impressive series to 30 consecutive victories, at the rate of seven victories per edition.

4 editions without conceding a set

The 2020 edition of Roland-Garros is a bit special for Rafael Nadal: the 34-year-old Spaniard has not conceded any set during the fortnight.

He had already achieved this feat on three occasions: in 2008, 2010 and 2017. This is an absolute Grand Slam record in the Open era.

2 matches in five sets

Rafael Nadal has only been forced to play a fifth and final set twice since 2005. He won these two games against John Isner in 2011 and Novak Djokovic in 2013. In Paris, Rafael became the king of speedy matches, especially during the first rounds: he has never conceded more than 100 games in one edition and his most "narrow" victory dates back to 2011 (96 games against him).
