Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas started well and actually managed to outmaneuver his British teammate.

But then everything went wrong for the Finn.

He lost the lead after a serious miss and just a few laps later he had to break due to technical problems with the car.

Instead, it was a show by Hamilton who has become world champion three years in a row.

Verstappen second

Second in the race was Max Verstappen who took many points on Bottas in the battle for second place, but Hamilton has almost secured his seventh World Cup title.

The big star now leads with 69 points.

The victory is Hamilton's seventh this season and 91st in his career.

Thus, he touches the legendary Michael Schumacher's record.

Record by Räikkönen

Finnish veteran Kimi Räikkönen, 40, set a record as the driver who has started the most Formula 1 races of all time.

But in his 323rd start, it was a twelfth place and no points.
