Elsa Jacquemot, 17, is the first Frenchwoman to win the junior title since Kristina Mladenovic in 2009. She beat the Russian Alina Charaeva in the final (4-6, 6-4, 6-2).

Frenchwoman Elsa Jacquemot won the Roland-Garros junior title on Saturday, her first Grand Slam trophy in this age category, beating Russian Alina Charaeva 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 in the final.

"Winning Roland is a sick thing, especially for a French woman. I don't even have the words, it's incredible, I'm super happy with the week I spent. It's a lot of emotion, it's really hard to take the microphone after the game, "said Elsa Jacquemot.

At 17, she succeeds Kristina Mladenovic in the French singles list, who won in the junior singles in 2009.
