Lars-Christer Olsson, 70, has worked with various assignments and sat in various positions in the service of football for over 30 years.

Now he thinks it's time to hand over to others.

"I made the decision a few years ago and that I am stepping down now is completely according to plan.

It's time for someone else to take over now.

I do not think you should sit for too long in different positions, but it is good with rotation and new blood at regular intervals. "

he says.

Through a 1980s as head of the Chancellery of the Skåne Football Association, he was recruited as general secretary of Swedish elite football in 1990.

Returned 2012

A year later, he sat in the same position with the football association, where he replaced Lars-Åke Lagrell who was elected chairman.

Ten years later, Olsson took the step to the European Football Association, Uefa, where a few years later he became the highest executive official.

In 2012, he returned to Swedish football as chairman of Sef.

Who takes over after him in Sef is up to the nomination committee to propose.

The annual meeting will take place on March 21 next year.

And what will Olsson do in the future?

"It is not likely that I will sit in the rocking chair yet, but I have not made any concrete plans.

We will see what the future has to offer. ”

he says.
