There will be no fluoride ban this season - neither in biathlon nor in cross-country skiing - something that is appreciated by Sweden's cross-country team manager Anders Byström.

- If you do not have equipment that is not good enough, you can not implement it simply.

- The wishes of the active people are also that you do not introduce the ban until you can guarantee equipment with safe tests.

Prior to the decision, there has been some information that has gone back and forth about the ban itself.

- It is clear that it is a pity that we have not received clear information earlier at the same time as they tried to the last to solve this with a test device, Byström says and then adds:

- It is not a drama for us, we have been prepared for both scenarios.

The pre-season preparations have been tougher for the wall team than for the riders.

- The walla team has had to experiment to get things without flour and at the same time have the idea that there may be another season with flour walla.

But they have been smart enough not to have taken too big steps.

- The tests they have done are probably not wasted, nor do we feel that there will probably be a flour ban in a year anyway.

What do you say about the development that is coming anyway?

- It is clear if you have flour wall or not.

At the same time, it is so important for the environment and the health of the dikes in particular, but now I still think it is right to wait with the ban.
