The AFC responded to the Saudi victory

The AFC responded on Friday to the Saudi victory over the eligibility of some Iranian Persepolis players in the semi-finals of the current version of the Champions League, in which the Iranian team won a penalty shootout, to reach the final scheduled for December 19.

The Confederation issued a conditional statement confirming the non-acceptance of the victory protest, saying: “The Discipline and Ethics Committee of the Asian Football Confederation issued a decision today, Friday, to reject the objection submitted by the Saudi Al-Nasr Club regarding the semi-final match of the AFC Champions League for the West, according to Article 59 of the instructions. AFC Champions League 2020 ".

Al-Nassr had objected to the participation of some Persepolis players in the match that was held in Doha last week, in which they won 5-3 on penalties, after they tied 1-1 in the regular and extra time.

Al-Nassr objected to the Iranian club entering into contracts with some players during a deadline granted by the International Federation, in order to pay dues to the former Croatian coach Branko Ivankovic, against the backdrop of a case filed against the club for late dues, before FIFA subsequently issued a penalty banning the club from contracts.
