World record for men's 10000m and women's 5000m on land Spanish competition October 8th, 11:37

An athletics competition was held in Valencia, Spain on the 7th, with Ugandan athletes at 10,000 meters for men and Ethiopian athletes at 5,000 meters for women setting new world records.

In the men's 10,000 meters, Uganda's Joshua Ceptegay won the championship at 26:11: 00, breaking the 2005 world record of 6:53.


In August, Cheptegay set a new world record for the men's 5000 meters.



In the women's 5000 meters, Ethiopia's Letesenbet Gidei won the championship at 14:06:62, breaking the world record set in 2008 at 4.53.
