The playoff meeting between Iceland and Romania would have been decided over two meetings this spring.

But due to the corona pandemic, it was a match tonight.

Gylfi Sigurdsson had a great evening for Iceland.

He shot in 1-0 after just over a quarter.

In the 27th minute, the Icelander thought he had extended when he lifted the ball into goal, but the goal was never approved due to offside.

In the 35th minute, the goal came anyway.

Sigurdsson shot in beautifully 2-0 with the left dojo.

Reduced on penalties

The Romanian national team started chasing goals to get into the match.

After just over an hour, the dividend arrived.

Romania were penalized and Alexandru Maxim scored 2-1.

But Romania did not come any closer.

There is one opponent left for Iceland before the team can play the European Championships.

Hungary is expected in a decisive match on November 12.
