A few weeks ago, it became clear that the ladies and gentlemen will clearly play their European Championship qualifier in an isolated bubble

.

"Purely sporting, it is better than if we had played in the Netherlands or Croatia, but logistically there are still a lot of issues to solve, Turkey is not an EU country, which means other restrictions and processes around quarantine and more," says national team manager Fredrik Joulamo in a press release.

Already in September, the International Basketball Association (Fiba) announced that the men's European Championship qualifiers would be played in a so-called bubble where the teams are kept isolated similar to the structure that currently prevails in the NBA playoffs.

So now the venue is ready.

Sweden has got off to a good start in the European Championship qualifiers with an away loss against Croatia and a home victory against Turkey.

The three best teams in the four-team group advance to the European Championships, which will be played in September 2022.
