Demar became the winner of the sixth stage of the Giro d'Italia

The Frenchman covered the distance of 188 kilometers in 4 hours 54 minutes 48 seconds.

The second was the Australian Michael Matthews (Sunweb), and the third place was taken by the Italian Fabio Felline (Astana).

Russian Ilnur Zakarin from CCC Team finished 37th, and his compatriot Pavel Kochetkov, also representing CCC Team, finished 64th.

In the overall standings, Portuguese João Almeida from Deceuninck-QuickStep (22: 01.01) is in the lead, Spaniard Pello Bilbao from Bahrain-Mclaren (+0.43) is in second place, and the Dutchman Vilko Kelderman from Sunweb (+0.48) is in third place.
