Before the World Cups in biathlon and cross-country skiing start, the Swedish elite clash in prestigious competitions at home.

SVT has secured the rights to the biathlon premiere until 2022 and the cross-country ski premiere until 2025.

November 14-15 is the biathlon premiere in Idre, with the entire Swedish elite in place.

In addition to being the start of the competition season for established Swedish world stars such as Hanna Öberg and Sebastian Samuelsson, it will also be Stina Nilsson's competition debut on snow.

- This year will be the first time we broadcast from Idre, and we are very happy to be able to show the competitions to our audience who we know loves biathlon.

We already have the rights to the World Cup and the World Cup until 2026, so it feels completely right to also be able to show the premiere, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.

Kalla and Karlsson in Bruksvallarna

The premiere for cross-country skiing takes place every other year in Bruksvallarna and every other year in Gällivare.

November 20-22, it's time for the cross - country ski premiere, which this year takes place in Bruksvallarna.

The big Swedish names like Charlotte Kalla, Frida Karlsson, Ebba Andersson and Calle Halfvarsson are of course in place.

- To strengthen the Winter Studio for a full six years with the season premiere in cross-country skiing feels very good.

Our audience has always had a great interest in the season's first real test at home and now we are building on this all the way to 2025, says SVT's sports director Åsa Edlund Jönsson.
