Now that the elections for the head of the Federation are over, it's time (finally) to land.

On Wednesday, Fabien Galthié announced the list of 31 players who will face Wales on October 24 at the Stade de France.

Among them, five newcomers are appearing in blue: pillar George-Henri Colombe (Racing 92), second row Killian Geraci (Lyon), center Selevasio Tolofua (Toulouse), winger Arthur Retière (La Rochelle) and the Olivier Klemenczak center (Racing 92).

On the side of the big absentees, that of Damian Penaud (Clermont) was expected, the winger suffering from a tibio-fibular sprain of an ankle.

The Auvergne club had also announced Monday that Penaud would be absent between six and eight weeks.

In total, the starting XV against Scotland, in March, only missing Penaud and the first line of Bordeaux-Bègles Jefferson Poirot, who announced his international retirement.

A busy schedule awaits the Blues

Seven months after their defeat in Scotland (28-17), the Blues face the XV du Leek on the 24th at the Stade de France, in a preparation match before completing the 2020 Six Nations Tournament with their late meeting against Ireland, next week.

The French will then tackle the Autumn Nations Cup, an eight-way competition with teams from the Six Nations, as well as Fiji and Georgia.

The French will face Scotland, Italy and Fiji in Group B, before challenging a team from Pool A, England, Ireland and Wales to a classification match.
