We have an authorization which would be 5,000 on the Chaume and 4,000 for Sables-d'Olonne, including the marina, ”detailed Yves Auvinet, president of the Vendée department and of SAEM Vendée, the organizing company of solo racing around the world and non-stop.

“It's much much less than usual”, he added, indicating that the previous Vendée Globe (2016-2017) had gathered a total of 2.25 million visitors from the opening of the village to the arrival of the skippers.

"A reservation system will be set up for the day of departure, November 8, in a gauge which has not yet been definitively decided, but which could be of the order of 9 to 10,000 people on both sides. another from the Vendée Globe channel ”, also indicated the mayor of Sables-d'Olonne, Yannick Moreau, during a press conference.

It will also be necessary to reserve to enter the departure village

But this year, even entry to the village-start of the famous sailboat race will be imperatively by reservation, starting this Tuesday from 3 p.m.

The number of places will be limited: 5,000 people authorized simultaneously.
