Toulouse waives its appeal against relegation to Ligue 2

The TFC was relegated to Ligue 2 after a completely failed but truncated 2019-2020 season.

The last of the French elite had filed on May 25 an appeal before the Council of State to try to win his maintenance on the green carpet.

The administrative court communicated on Monday "the withdrawal of action of the request" from the Toulouse club.

Clearly, the TFC chaired since July by Damien Comolli, representative of the American fund RedBird Capital Partners, dropped the case.

His former boss Olivier Sadran had sought to overturn the decision taken on April 30 by the board of directors of the Professional Football League (LFP).

Ranking frozen and contested

Following the interruption of the championships because of the coronavirus epidemic, the LFP had frozen the classification, and sent Toulouse as Amiens in Ligue 2.

After six days of L2, the Haut-Garonnais club, which aims for an immediate recovery, occupies 15th place and the Picardy club 17th.
