It looked like it would not be a deal, but then eleven minutes after midnight, after the signing window closed again, the news came from Everton:

Initiated promising

It had been agreed with Roma to borrow the Swedish goalkeeper Robin Olsen on a season-long loan.

Everton have started the season promisingly and have won four of four matches in the league game.

But goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has been questioned.

The club wanted to bring in a new goalkeeper and create a greater competitive situation for Pickford, which today is as given between the posts at Everton as with the English national team.

Little playing time

Olsen comes from a season in Roma where he had a hard time getting playing time.

It would not have been better this season, as Olsen had most likely been seen as the third goalkeeper behind Pau López and Antonio Mirante.

At Everton, Olsen gets a new coach in Carlo Ancelotti and teammates such as James Rodriguez, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and the previously mentioned goalkeeper, Jordan Pickford.
