Successful biathlon coach Wolfgang Pichler suffered serious heart problems during a cycling session near his hometown of Ruhpolding in Germany a week ago and was placed in an artificial coma.

- The condition is considered serious but stable, said SOK's operations manager Peter Reinebo to SVT Sport then.

Now the 65-year-old has woken up and is feeling well under the circumstances, Aftonbladet reports.

- He has asked about the French Open in tennis and it indicates that he is on his way back.

He does not remember any of what happened.

But it is normal according to the doctors.
