FC Emmen has recruited a new goalkeeper one day before the close of the transfer market.

Felix Wiedwald comes over from Eintracht Frankfurt.

Thirty-year-old Wiedwald signs for one year in Emmen, with an option for an extra season.

Wiedwald was reserve keeper at Eintracht Frankfurt.

He previously played in England with Leeds United and in Germany for Werder Bremen and MSV Duisburg.

"I think it is very important that I get a good feeling at a club", says Wiedwald on the Emmen website.

"The conversations at FC Emmen gave me that good feeling right away."

"I'm really looking forward to this new adventure. For me it's a new competition, but not very far from where I come from."

The 33-year-old Dennis Telgenkamp defended the goal of the team from Drenthe in the first four league matches.

Emmen is in the lower regions of the Eredivisie with two points.

Earlier this summer, Emmen already attracted midfielder Simon Tibbling and wing defender Caner Cavlan.
