The New York Rangers have two Russian goalkeepers in Aleksandar Georgiyev and Igor Shestjorkin.

The club believes in them a lot and that is why Lundqvist is bought out.

- I could not see that he would remain as the situation has become in Rangers with two as good goalkeepers as they have, with the season that Henrik Lundqvist had and with his age.

It would have surprised me if it had been something else, says Jonas Andersson.

What has he meant to the New York Rangers?

- He has been the king of New York and few have been as synonymous with a club as Henrik Lundqvist has been with Rangers.

He took them more or less himself to a Stanley Cup final and he has won the award as best goalkeeper.

He has done pretty much everything except win the Stanley Cup.

He has been Rangers personified.

What do you say about him being bought out?

Not the optimal ending.

- Everything has an end.

It's easy to romanticize with elite athletes.

A career has its ups and downs and it also has an end.

I think you should make such a big deal out of it.

Finishing at the top never works in reality.

"Should treat him to a Stanley Cup"

Jonas Andersson hopes that Lundqvist stays in the NHL and goes to an expected top team, then as a second goalkeeper.

- I think it would have been great fun if he got the chance in a Stanley Cup challenger.

The problem now is that it is not as easy to identify who will win the Stanley Cup and those who are up there are in a very good position on the goalkeeper side.

- I would really treat Henrik Lundqvist to a Stanley Cup, but it is also based on the fact that he has the strength to motivate himself for another season.
