It was in Saturday's match in the Bundesliga between Ozan Kabak's Shalke 04 and Ludwig Augustinsson's Werder Bremen, that Kabak spat against the Swede after a close match.

Now the German football association DFB is closing Kabak in four matches for the event, and in addition he is forced to pay a fine of approximately 158,000 Swedish kronor.

Apologies on social media

Kabak was remorseful afterwards, and wrote the following on twitter:

"I would like to sincerely apologize to Ludwig Augustinsson. It was not my intention, it was an accident. I did not aim at him, the TV angle gives a misleading picture of the event. I have never done so before and will never do so in the future, as it is unsportsmanlike. It was very unfortunate ",
