It was in February that Jenny Fransson tested positive for the anabolic steroid methyltestosterone and in June came the Doping Board's announcement of a four-year suspension.

Fransson, who has an Olympic bronze from Rio de Janeiro 2016 as her main merit, has claimed that she is innocent and therefore the verdict was appealed to the National Sports Board.

A final hearing was held between the two parties today.

- I can say that I think that the hearing in the National Sports Board kept a more serious level than it did in the Doping Board, says the representative Mats Larsson who is a professor of physics at Stockholm University.

"It will be a technical task"

Larsson has previously criticized the Doping Board and said that they did not try to understand whether the measurements have met the requirements set by the international doping agency Wada.

- What we mean is that the doping laboratory has not quality-assured the analysis sufficiently to be sufficient for a conviction.

That is our view.

It will be a fairly technical task for them (Riksidrottsnämnden).

There are many technical issues that arise, he says.

Judgment in two weeks

The verdict will thus come on October 14 and Larsson has hopes that it will be changed.

- It is clear that I have hopes that it will change.

It would be strange otherwise, says Larsson.

But do you think that will change?

- I think we had good arguments, but I will probably not say more than that.

We must let the National Sports Board work.

When doping cases affect top international athletes, such as Jenny Fransson, the National Sports Board's ruling can be appealed to the sports international arbitration court, Cas.

SVT Sport has applied for the Riksidrottsnämnden's chairman Krister Malmsten.
