Set the start of the new season on October 8th

The UAE Professional League announced today, in coordination with the Football Association, the launch dates for its competitions, which include the Arab Gulf League, the Arabian Gulf Cup, and the Arab Gulf League U-21 on October 8, after coordination with the competent authorities in the country and also coordination with the rights-owning channels.

The League said in a press statement that the 2020-2021 sports season will start with the Arab Gulf Cup championship with its new system, where the preliminary rounds will be held in two rounds: the first on October 8 and 9, 2020, and the second on November 12 and 13.

The first round will witness the holding of three matches on its first day, as Kalba hosts Al-Jazira at 6:30 pm, and Hatta and Baniyas meet at the same time, and the first day's competitions will conclude with the Fujairah and Ajman meeting at 9 pm.

On the second day of the tour, Al-Ahly youth host Al Dhafra at half past six, and Khor Fakkan will be Al Ain’s guest at the same time.

The tour ends with a confrontation with Al-Wahda, the Al Wasl team, at 9 pm.

According to the new competition system, the Sharjah team, the Arab Gulf League champion, and the Arabian Gulf Cup champion Al Nasr will go up to the quarter-finals directly.

As for the Arab Gulf League championship, it will start on October 16, with the first round being held over two days (16 and 17 October). On its first day, Al Wahda will host the Hatta team at 6:15 pm, and Ajman will be a guest at Al Dhafra at the same time.

The first day's competitions will continue with the meeting between Fujairah and Sharjah at nine in the evening, and Al Wasl and Baniyas at the same time.

The second day of the tour will witness the holding of three matches, two matches will be held at 6:15 pm. The first will bring together Al Ittihad Kalba and Shabab Al Ahly, and in the second match Al Ain and Khor Fakkan will meet.

The tour ends with a victory against the Al-Jazeera team at nine in the evening.

The first round of the Arabian Gulf League championship is scheduled to be concluded with round 13 on January 4 and 5, 2021.
