The French continued disillusionment on Tuesday, with the eliminations in the first round of Gilles Simon, Richard Gasquet and Kristina Mladenovic.

Novak Djokovic, for his part, had no problem entering the competition.

French tennis looks grim.

The French players lost one after the other Tuesday at Roland Garros, with the eliminations in the first round of Gilles Simon, Richard Gasquet and Kristina Mladenovic.

In the men's tournament, the French managed "the feat" of not winning a single match of the day, while in the girls the young Fiona Ferro saved the honor.

Far from the hexagonal slump, Novak Djokovic unrolled for his entry into the running by easily dominating the Swedish Mikael Ymer in three sets (6-0, 6-2, 6-3).

0/6 for the French, Mladenovic's nightmare

It's simple: the six French players entered this Tuesday in the men's table have all lost.

In almost deserted stadiums, pandemic obliges, and by sadly autumnal weather, Richard Gasquet was swept away by the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut (10th world) in three sets (7-6 [5], 6-2, 6- 1).

“Richie”, the 50th player in the world, hadn't been beaten at Roland Garros for ten years.

Gilles Simon, another "new musketeer" on the decline, managed to take a set from young Canadian Denis Shapovalov before lowering the flag in four sets (6-2, 7-5, 5-7, 6-3).

Humbert, Halys, Mayot and Barrère were also eliminated from the outset.

The big disappointment of the day is to be found on the side of the women, with the terribly frustrating defeat of Kristina Mladenovic.

"Kiki" led 5-1 in the first set before losing his footing completely after a huge refereeing error against him.

The French finally lost in straight sets against the German Laura Siegemund (7-5, 6-3).
