We do not survive a rise in his series to a small march of a duel against the Lakers in the play-offs.

Not even when your name is Doc Rivers.

The Clippers coach announced Monday on the networks that he was leaving the franchise in Los Angeles.

Departure which therefore comes after the elimination against the Nuggets in seven games, after having led 3-1.

“Thank you to the Clipper Nation for allowing me to be your coach and for all the support given to help make this franchise a winning franchise,” Rivers tweeted.

“When I took this job, my goal was to make (the Clippers) a winning team, a destination for free agents and bring a league title,” he continued.

“If I've been able to accomplish the majority of my goals, I won't be able to achieve them all.

"

Rivers, 58, joined the Clippers from the Celtics in 2013. He never managed to lead them past the conference semifinals and was eliminated six times in the first round.

Despite this record, Rivers believes, however, that the Clippers do not lack much to win the NBA title.

“Even though the season has ended in a disappointing way, I know you are there and I know what the team is capable of with your support,” Rivers said in a message to fans.

Good spirit, Doc.
