A knee injury keeps Sani away from Bayern Munich for two weeks

Bayern Munich, coach of the German football team, Hanzi Flick, revealed today that winger Leroy Sane will miss future matches for the team as well as for the German national team, due to a knee injury.

Speaking about the German Super Cup match scheduled for tomorrow against Borussia Dortmund, Flick said: "Leroy will be absent ... He has suffered a knee injury. We hope he will return after the international break."

Sani will thus be absent from the Dortmund match, as well as the next scheduled match against Hertha Berlin next Sunday in the German Bundesliga and the German national team matches against Turkey, Ukraine and Switzerland between the seventh and 13th of next October.

Sani may return to participate through the Bayern match against two rounds in the German Cup on October 15 or the match scheduled two days later against Bielefeld in the Bundesliga.

Flick said there were doubts about the possibility of David Alaba's participation in tomorrow's match, as he suffers from "muscle problems".

Bayern Munich is running the German Super Cup in search of its fifth title this year, after winning the league, the Cup and the Champions League, as well as the European Super Cup.

Bayern Munich seeks to shake off the dust of the heavy defeat suffered by Hoffenheim 1/4 last Sunday, which ended a series of 32 consecutive matches in which Bayern did not suffer any defeat in all competitions, within about ten months.

Borussia Dortmund lost 2-0 to Augsburg last Saturday in the second round of the Bundesliga.
