The first day of the 2020 edition of Roland Garros takes place on Sunday with already large posters, including an Andy Murray - Stan Wawrinka match, each winner of three Grand Slams.

Simona Halep, crowned in 2018 and number 1 contender for the title, will have the honors of the Central court on Sunday for the first day of the 2020 Roland Garros edition, exceptionally postponed to the fall due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

If Halep should start the fortnight gently against the Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (70th), the task is more complicated for the French Caroline Garcia (45th), opposite from Sunday entry to the Estonian Anett Kontaveit (21st), who comes to beat her in Rome (6-3, 7-6 (7/1)).

The shock of the first round between two triple Grand Slam winners, Andy Murray and Stan Wawrinka, concludes this inaugural Sunday on the Philippe-Chatrier court.

On the Suzanne-Lenglen, the Belarussian revenge and recent US Open finalist Victoria Azarenka faces Montenegrin Danka Kovinic at 9 am.
