While the first matches of the Parisian fortnight began in rainy and cool weather (11 ° C), accompanied by gusts of wind, Azarenka, finalist of the last US Open, refused to wait for a downpour to pass and pushed the 'referee to interrupt his match of the 1st round, Sunday.

"It's getting ridiculous": Belarusian Victoria Azarenka, finalist of the last US Open, refused to wait in the cold on Suzanne-Lenglen court, while the downpour passed, and urged the referee to interrupt her match of the 1st round of Roland-Garros, Sunday after three games.

"You don't see what's going on"

While the first matches of the Parisian fortnight began in rainy and cool weather (11 ° C), accompanied by gusts of wind, Azarenka who was leading 2 games to 1 against Montenegrin Danka Kovinic spoke to the referee.

"It's getting ridiculous. Can't you see what's going on? (...) It's too cold," Azarenka said.

“You can't hold your racket because it's too wet,” said the former world No. 1.

“It's a joke, what are we doing here?” Asked Azarenka again before leaving the court, even before the referee declared the match suspended.

"I'm not going to wait here a little longer because I'm cold."

The other matches of the first round started simultaneously were not interrupted at the same time.

Azarenka and Kovinic face each other on the Suzanne-Lenglen court which, unlike Central which is already showing its brand new retractable roof, does not yet have any cover.

Sunday at 11am, it was 11 ° C in the west of Paris, with scattered rains and gusts of wind.

The weather forecast does not bode much better for the next two weeks.
