The Los Angeles Lakers went to the club's 32nd NBA Finals last night when they defeated the Denver Nuggets 117-107 in the fifth semifinal.

The dominant player of the match, with 38 points, was 35-year-old LeBron James.

In the closing period, it was all about him.

- I do not know if I have ever seen a player take over a match in that way, says Lakers coach Frank Vogel.

"Does not happen every year"

James will now play his tenth NBA final and you will meet the winner in the semifinal series between the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.

- We can not take this for granted, because this does not happen every year for someone, James said after the decisive semi-final victory.

He's right about that, but for himself it happens almost every year.

Nine out of ten finals

The Celtics have been in the final 21 times and apart from the Lakers, only they and the Golden State Warriors have played more finals than James has done on his own.

The star has reached the final all seasons except one of the last ten.

That was last year and then he was injured a lot and the Los Angeles Lakers did not even reach the playoffs.

"Huge business"

James played his first final back in 2007 with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

From 2011-2014, there were four straight finals with the Miami Heat before he returned to Cleveland for four more straight.

- I think it is a huge achievement to get to the final with a third team, says Vogel as a final with the Los Angeles team is now waiting.

10 finals, but in fact only three of them have ended with championship victories - 2012, 2013 and 2016.

Shared third through the ages

Three other players have played 10 NBA Finals or more.

James has touched on legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but still has Sam Jones (11) and Bill Russell (12) ahead of him.

With tonight's victory, James Derek Fisher broke the record for most playoff victories in the NBA when he took his 161st in his career.

He is also the only player to have reached the final with five different head coaches.
