As the SHL changed the game program and postponed several matches, Djurgården became the team that stepped in last in the SHL season.

However, Djurgården will have to wait for their first SHL goal after being eliminated against Frölunda.

The Gothenburg team was able to win 2-0, and took their second straight victory.

Thrilling first period

The first period was thrilling - but goalless.

Frölunda pushed back Djurgården a lot in the last minutes, but the home team's Lithuanian goalkeeper Mantas Armalis played great.

Frölunda had 40 shots on goal against Djurgårdens 19.

- Many nice saves by their goalkeeper, but I have a hard time seeing that he makes another such period, and then we should probably be able to score, Frölunda's Simon Hjalmarsson told C More after the first period.

Armalis, who also represented Djurgården in 2014–2016, continued to excel in the second period.

Frölunda pressed and forced the Lithuanian to several high-class saves.

The home team was disciplined - until there were five minutes left of the second period.

Jesper Pettersson's two minutes for hooking became costly for Djurgården.

The first SHL goal

Just ten seconds into Frölunda's powerplay, Armalis was outwitted.

A thunderous shot from Mattias Norlinder looked in behind Djurgården's goalkeeper.

- It sat pretty nice, it was nice to get a bag in, Norlinder said to C More after scoring his first SHL goal.

Norlinder was the only one to outsmart Mantas Armalis, and Joel Lundqvist was able to hit the puck into an empty goal when Djurgården took out the goalkeeper with 16 seconds left to chase an equalizer.

- We play too much squash hockey, Frölunda does it better, Djurgården's coach Robert Ohlsson told C More after the match.

- We do not really get the dividend we want.

But yes - their goalkeeper plays well, said Frölunda's Max Friberg.
